This store neglects their fish. Last time I visited, several fish were dead or on the verge of dying. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, he said, "We usually scoop out all of the dead ones in the morning but we don't kill them", as if I was suggesting he should kill them. How about just taking care of the fish in the first place so they're not dying from your neglect? How about spending more time caring for the animals you sell people so that you don't have to have a WHOLE ROUTINE aimed at cleaning out dead fish. Despite the dead fish, their tanks are filthy. If they're mistreating their fish, they're probably mistreating those overpriced puppies, too. Really disappointed in this place. I'll be taking my money elsewhere and I advise others to do the same.
Berts is my all time favorite pet store. Family owned and operated. Great selection, great prices, and knowledgeable staff. I've highly recommended Berts to all of my friends for years and gladly make the 45 minute trip there!
Saltwater aquarium-keeping is complex, time-consuming, and expensive. For that reason, hobbyists need a local store that has selection and expertise. Bert's has both, but in addition, the knowledgeable staff will take time with you to answer ALL your questions, including those that must seem elementary to them, without making you feel like you're being rushed or disrespected. Bert's is my go-to store, even if I don't need to buy anything. Take your kids; they'll learn something.
Prices r fair and staff is friendly but most the fresh water fish had ick . which is easy to cure but shouldn't be sold until cured
Alway’s a great experience from this establishment. Knowledgeable staff, and they are extremely helpful with issues I have with my pet’s. I have bought 2 Yorkie’s from them and they have been excellent pet’s with zero issues. Try saying that about pet’s you get from the big box store’s. Trust me I’ve been down that road before and buying local from a reliable source is a much better experience.
